In Loving Memory JOSEPH LYNCH 1996-2018

A SMALL PIECE OF JOE'S STORY

Joe Lynch was a standout student and athlete at Holy Cross High School his freshman and sophomore years and Wolcott High School his junior and senior years.  He went on to attend Post University where he was a member of both the Honors Program as an accounting major and the Sprint Football team.  Joe was actively involved in all aspects of school life at Holy Cross, Wolcott High and Post, and received many academic and athletic awards along the way.  He took full advantage of every opportunity he was given and was proud of all he was able to accomplish.  After being diagnosed with osteosarcoma  in 2016, Joe began treatment at Connecticut Childrens Medical Center.  During his time at CCMC, Joe served as a role model for other patients and left a lasting impression on the doctors, nurses and staff who cared for him.  He was an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend who passed away too soon at the age of 22, on April 5th 2018.

SCHOLARSHIPS

We are offering scholarships to two Wolcott High School and two Holy Cross High School senior football players who plan to play football in college. 

Applications are available through the guidance department at each school and are due March 17th.

WHERE THE MONEY GOES

So far most of the money we have spent has gone to fees for setting up the 501(c)(3), getting the tax ID# and bank accounts, setting up this website and all the other little things required to run Joseph Lynch Memorial Inc. As of March 4th, 2019 we are officially a 501(c)(3) private foundation meaning that donors can deduct contributions made to Joseph Lynch Memorial Inc. under IRC section 170.
